Earth Oven Workshop – Saturday 22nd August 2009 -

Build an Earth Oven Workshop (with monks) at The Friary, Batcombe…
Saturday 22nd August 2009
-

Above: a new kind of handy-craft is learned at our first workshop in May

Above: firing up the oven for yummy pizzas – hot stuff!

-

This hands-on workshop covers the building process, and includes all the natural materials required to make an earth oven….(and it doesn’t just end there)….pizzas will be baked in the earth oven for tea!

-

Earth ovens are simple, low-cost and fun to build. Ideal for baking delicious bread and pizzas, they can be rustic, beautiful and functional, making wonderful additions to any home garden

-

This workshop is a great introduction to earthen construction and how natural building techniques can be used to transform your world. The same technique has been used for centuries for making ovens, walls and houses

-

It aims to inspire/ to make exciting structures from free natural materials you can find locally. Be the envy of your friends and neighbours!….welcome to the ultimate Transition consumer must have!..

  • Happy days!
  • START: 9am with a nice cuppa tea
  • FINISH: tea time, at dusk
  • To give everyone a ‘hands on’ experience we have decided to limit numbers to 12 people maximum
  • PRICE: £10 per person paid in advance (this covers costs)
  • Donations to Transition Town Dorchester are welcome which help to provide further events
